MDNR Recommends the Repeal of Antler Restrictions
After 5 years of AR, Mich. DNR is recommending that due to insufficient hunters and landowner support in DMU 118, that AR be discontinued. A survey conducted showed that only 57% of the hunters that hunted that DMU,supported continuing the antler restrictions and by law they need 66% approval.

DMU 118 was the only DMU that had AR in Mich. Only two states have statewide AR , Miss. and Ark. In Miss. the buck harvest decreased by 20% and rack sizes are decreasing in areas with the best soils. In Ark. buck harvests declined by 40% and BB have to be tagged as antlered buck.

hey, i may be wrong, but it sure looks like there is more than one area there that has AR's. i hate the whole idea of them, but to fight them, we have to tell the whole truth and not stoop to their level, deaddeer.
