RE: wv deer success
I killed 2 does with a bow and one with a rifle the day after Christmas. They were all adult does that were in the 80-90lb range dressed.
I did pass on a couple small bucks in bow season. Hopefully they won't be so small next year!
It was, by far, the worst hunting season that our camp has ever seen. Could be us, but I don't think we did anything differently. We only killed one buck out of our camp...and it was a 4pt with a 13" spread. Nothing to write home about.
I did miss an 8pt that was about 16-18" wide with my bow. It was an easier shot than either of the does I killed........[:@]

I had a banner year in WV last year, I saw at least 4, 120+ class bucks along with numerous smaller bucks, the sad part is that I couldnt hit any of the darn things (for some stupid reason I shot over everything I shot at this year, with a bow that is) I did shoot a decent 8pt and a real big 4pt, also I shot a doe in the late private land only hunt. Oh yeah, those deer were typical WV mountain deer bucks were right around 100lb dressed and the doe about 80lbs dressed

I had by far the worst deer season here in good ol' WV that I've had in years. I did shoot a 7 point that dressed app. 135 lbs. but I spent 7-8 days in stand from daylight to dark and never saw a deer. I only had 2-3 good days this year. I think that we have been killing way to many deer the last couple of years and now it's coming back to haunt us. Everybody that I talked to said that they weren't seeing near the amount of deer that they normally see.

Thanks for the link, Royak. That's rediculous if you ask me.
11 deer??? 13 for a youth???
If a man lives with his 2 sons, they can kill 37 deer, 15 of which can be bucks. Is this really what the herd needs?
