Default Middlesex County Monster

An uncle of mine showed me pictures yesterday of a deer he shot in Middlesex county NJ.

He shot the buck opening morning at a distance of 80 yds. His deer scored 153 B&C, and the biologist told him is was the biggest deer he has seen shot in that area in over 15 years. The deer is incredible. Its a typical 8 point with a massive spread and huge tines.

I'm working on trying to get a picture. The biologist told him the deer with be in next years compendium and will probably be in the sportsmans show in January.

Awesome buck. I had no idea that deer of that size exisited in that area of the state.

Tell him nice job! This is an example of big deer in semi-rural/suburban areas of NJ getting to become monsters. I have seen some big deer over the last few weeks in Bergen County but hunting is off limits.

Any deer over 150 is a monster in NJ or anywhere

I feel that NJ does produce big bucks. I see alot, I mean alot of 130-150 class deer and 2-4 year old bucks come into the checkin station where I work part time at nite. And some of them are bucks that I would of loved to seen when they were 6 or 7. State record was tooken 10 miles down the road from where I shotgun hunt in elmer.
With the unlimited anterless deer law alot of button bucks get killed. I always have a set of binoculars to check the head before I shoot a doe.
Its good that they are wiping the does out but alot of the anterless tags that get filled are button bucks. Sometimes I wonder if they just gave everyon 2 doe tags if less button bucks would get killed. JMO
