I am looking to Bow hunt in Phippsburg area and was looking at three possible spots: Basin Pond Preserve, Phippsburg town forest or Sprague Pond Preserve. Does anyone have any info to share for around Phippsburg? I am wondering how the bowhunting pressure is in Phippsburg and deer numbers?

Fellow Mainer speaking. No experience on those three areas ---but in general best thing to do is get out there now, while we have
some snow on the ground but not too much. Deer are moving
you should be able to quickly get an idea of relative numbers
in the three areas. Look for the biggest tracks that regularly
make a drag mark as they walk and your most likely looking
at a buck track---then follow to see where they regularly travel.
