From Hornel to Olean, it doesn't look as though there was even a deer season this year. I have NEVER seen so many deer in fields along I-86 as I have this past winter/spring. So, t6o answer your question, IMHO, it looks like they did o.k.

Ditto....Although it was a COLD winter, there wasn't much weather that would have limited deer movement..As long as they can stay mobile, they'll find enough to eat and be able to escape predators..

Hunted in 8T with a buddy and shot a decent buck .
Never seen a doe to fill a doe tag thow niether did my buddy .
4 others I hunt with hunted over in 8P , it was a very dry run .
Not one of them shot a deer . period ,
3 of them never seen a deer .
We all hunted the same areas on opening shotgun / rifle for the last 10 years or so and its not uncommon for 1 of us to have bad luck but to have only one of us . Luckley me shoot a buck or deer period out of six hunters was rather wierd ..
So I,m glad to here the deer are around .
Aparently the rut was off last year ???[X(]
