extermination on game lands is more like it.

I think they need to open all of the roads on the SGL and they could just get rid of the deer there.

As far as closing time. Have many of you actually looked at your watch while hunting. I hunt until I can safely hunt and see my pins. Do you really look at your watch????

I have had deer come in on me asI was about to climb down, and they trapped me in the tree well past dark. I didn't exit because I didn't want to spook them from the area and my tree in particular. Is this a violation so long as no attempt is made to take an animal past legal hours?
What about walking out ofthe closed road areas of the ANF that takes over an hour to get out? We start walking before dark and it is pitch dark by the time we get out to the truck. I don't believe the rules are written that hunters must be OUT of the woods at a certain time, just that no animal shall be taken past legal hours. These rules always confused me a bit, so I simply never will take an animal at or beyond twilight. I'll get him another day! I dread taking one late in the day anyway for fear of having to trail it in the dark. I like mornings!

Greg, this straight from the PGC office in Harrisburg. Being in the woods with your gunor bow after dark is legal so long as you dont have a round chambered or an arrow nocked.

Probably every bowhunter has been trapped by deer coming in as it gets too dark. Quiver the arrow an you're legal!

The way we got this is when my buddy got met by an overzealous deputyat his car one night and was told if he wasnt at the car by quitting time the next day he'd get cited. He and the deputy sort of had a troubled past not related to hunting. My buddy called the PGC, clarified the rules and reported the deputies threats.Deputy dawg never botheredmy buddy again.

Got to give the PGC credit for finally catching up with other states. Now can we eliminate the backtags and automate the harvest reporting? We are trying to save trees in PA by decreasing the deer herd but the PGC sure does use alot of tree based material...aka paper....lol
