There was a game warden in Jefferson County, back in the 60's - 70's.
He was friends with everybody and got along with everybody.
He even played softball with one of my Uncle's.
One time he even went so far as to drag a couple of deer out of the Game Lands for my dad and Uncle and even let my grandfather ride in the truck with him - because he was old and the warden felt bad that his kids dragged him so far back into the woods.
Well it seem's that the PGC sent him a new deputy - fresh from the Ross Leffler Game School.
They were out on a patrol and they came to a camp that had a illegal shot doe. The new deputy asked if he was going to do a investigation and write some tickets. The game warden said no, because he knew those people and they were friends of his.
Well the new hire deputy kept his mouth shut and didn't say anything more.
10 years later, with the help of a couple of promotions, the new hire deputy became the boss of the old Game Warden.
The first thing that he did, when he accepted his new position was to send his mentor as far away as possible from Jefferson County.
I think it was the whole way to Wyoming County PA.
For all I know - unless he retired, he is still there!

Yea it is a problem..... I know of people that shoot any buck, if a kid shoots a six pointer or larger, the adults tag it, if an adult shoots a small one, a kid tags it....basically they are group hunters.... they never shoot over the tag limit, or tag small bucks with adult tags....they just shoot their "group" limit every year...it is against the law.

most of time this brown its down is by group hunters driving deer with kids.
i am not after any crews, heck, i hunt in one at times.yes, i feel that hunters do go by rules in crews too but i feel not many are.
but i feel, this is where most of this is being done.
rest is being done by road hunters with kid in vehicle,adult does not even look to see if its doe or buck.they just shoot.
thanks for being truthful and knowing what is happening.
some think its not happening, IT IS and i dont know how we as sportsman can stop it other than making it 3 points for all of us, then THEY HAVE TO LOOK .
i saw crew that are meat hungry.
they all had radios on them,some even had mikes hooked up to their face.
DO YOU THINK THOSE RADIOS ARE FOR CASUAL CONVERSATIONS?
when a shot goes off,every radio in crew comes ON.

ofcourse, i used example there..
in real world most are not that stupid to talk that way,
but some are who think you cant hear.
they know WCO can hear them also.

It ois definately going on...and as said above, if all tags were a 3 point rule it would solve that problem.... then again it would not promote yoth hunters as much as it does now, messy situation to deal with

My thoughts are yes, that it does happen. To what degree.....I don't know, depends on what someone considers widespread. I'd say maybe alittle more than occsional, but not a HUGE problem.
Now, poaching in general, I think is a much bigger problem than most want to admit, and has been LONG before any of these new regulations have gone into place. Multiple deer, multiple bucks, very littel risk of getting caught, and a societal "acceptance" of that just being how it is.
For what its worth, I thinka junior license should come with an either sex tag, and require that AR's be followed.
