schuyler county 9 pt.
Heres a pic. of my 9 pt. taken on 11/24/2007 while waiting for watchers to get set up on a drive. The deer was hiding in a pile of stumps and trees that had been bulldozed up.I was getting ready to do a drive and was waiting for the watchers to get set up. I decided to nose around the pile while waiting, this buck waited until I got with in 5 ft. before he jumped up and took off. I never saw him until he stood up. I would have shot him there if I could have gotten my safety off in time. he made it about 35 yds. before I shot him. As it turned out, this happened to be the same buck I hit with my bow on the wed. before gun opened. I didn't know it at the time but I hit him to low and the arrow never got any vitals. It was a complete pass thru. but about 3 inches to low.

RE: schuyler county 9 pt.
thats right, I couldn't figure it out. It was a perfect 20 yd. broadside shot. I had great bright red blood for a while and then it just stopped. the last blood I found, he had already turned and was heading for the log pile which was about 200 yds. away. I was afraid I may have only got one lung and that he had went somewhere and bedded down to die. where I hunt there is close to 100 acres of goldenrod.....The watchers were not very happy!
