I did a google search and came up with two properties. One was already leased, and teh other was very, veryexpensive and non-exlusive. I did not try the logging companies...who are the big ones in NY??

I'll take any suggestion statewide, those areas are prefferable as its a bit closer for me.

I know an area of state land that has a good amount of deer, but I am told the place gets hammered with guys during gun season.

In my area there is Cotton hanlon. I will be talking with theirrep early next year. That is when they start getting leases cancelled. I maybe starting up a small hunting club.

Leasing land is a great idea as long as you can keep it very well posted and the deer jackers out. That is the tough part. Once someone finds out you have nice deer on your land it's all over.. Try searching dutchess county. I work with a guy that hunts a farmers land. He will only allow himself and his brother to hunt it. He actually had a gun club kicked off the property they hunted for years. This guy feeds and grows the biggest bucks you have ever seen. This is in Clove Valley NY (dutchess county). I give him credit for putting the time in that he has invested and the money he spends is unbelievable.
