RE: More Mountain Lions In PA Discussion
I've a question. How many hunters have never seen a Bobcat in the wild yet they exist and in some areas there are alot when all things are considered. Right here in Monroe/Pike Counties a professional trapper caught and tagged over 60 different animalswhen the Game Com. was doing a feasability study on a Bobcat hunting season.
Just because one has not seen a Mountain Lion does not mean they can't or do not exist here in Pa. Just for the record I and two other (one is a respected realator the other a L.E.O.)friends
saw a Mountain Lion back in 1974 in Wantage Township , Sussex Couty N.J. At that time there was no reported escapes from Space Farms (local zoo and fur farm) and I don't believe there were any locals that had sch exotics. In 1976 a person I know shot a Mt. lion in Maine, hunting a swamp located in Stetson ,about 35 minutes or so from Bangor.
I've never seen one here in Pa. but not so quick to condem people who said that they have as many here.
