Visit a taxidermist and ask them if they are skeptical about AR's...in this area the buck sizes are definately growing at least in all the tax shops and the amount of animals coming in.

Rob....I agree wiyh you. It's just common sense that the taxidermists will be busier when people are shooting bigger bucks. Not too many of those little "brushbucks" that used to be legal ever made it up on the wall.
Size matters.

They've been shooting big bucks with cameras and guns in the NC counties for years. Show me the does.

I seen two 2 1/2 yr old eight pointers yesterday with about 17in spreads (On private land of course). I think AR's are a great idea, but I think we are killing most of the buck now before they get antlers instead of shooting little spikes and four pointers. The best year we seen where I hunt was the year after they started AR's. There were a lot of deer and a higher percentage of them were buck. Now that it's been a few years we just don't see any deer. By the way, I'm not whining and I don't want to hear the typical "you need to hunt harder". I realize that the places we have hunted for the last 20 years just don't hold deer anymore. I just think it sucks that my kids are finally old enough to hunt and all the places we hunted when I was a kid are now deerless.

I saw 6 bucks so far this yr in PA that will be shooters come fall.

2 in Washington county 1 will be a very solid 8 pointer with I figureing a 19-20" spread and what appeared to be a very big 13 pointer with what looks like a big split in the left brow tine

1 in Green county another very nice 8 pointer but he worries me on mass

3 in Elk/forrest county all very nice and look to be well beyond the ears.

The few bucks I have seen are nice, but they won't be happy until they are are killed off. Lets just keep handin' out tags and shootin everything...they'll be gone soon.

SC PA is looking good.
The fields I have been glasing have had several shooters that would look very nice on the wall, as well as just as many does as previous seasons.
Talked to a couple food and cover crew guys and they said it looks pretty good on the food plots on the local gamelands as well already.
