Default Moving to West Virginia

I will be moving to WV in the next couple of weeks from GA.

Anyone out there from WV that could give me some insight on hunting and fishing.

I hunt mainly deer with bow, gun, and muzzleloader. I do some turkey hunting. I like to trout fish.

I will be moving to Greenbrier County. Are there any good shops around with knowledgable people?

Thanks for any help!

That's the county where "Wrong Turn" occurred!

I don't know much about Greenbrier County, but you should have good deer hunting. You could go to Yahoo yellow pages and type in store topics for the specific city you are moving to and find out what is nearby.

Beautiful country, that's for sure. Nothing like heading to the hills on a hunting trip when the leaves turn brown!

Where in Greenbrier County are you moving to. I maybe can point you in the right direction. The deer hunting has sucked recently, but there are some hunting leases to join and a lot of National Forest.

LOL! Now let's you just drop them pants!

A LOT of counties in WV had declining deer harvest numbers between 2000 and 2004 due to harsh winters, no acorn crops for several years in a row, some gypsy moth damage, and quite liberal doe seasons. But at least some had an increase in 2005 and some counties are tightening the doe seasons/limits, indicating that perhaps..... just perhaps, the herd numbers are on the increase now.
