If you have no life and spend all your time walking in the woods and you know you are a target for rape, murder etc, then why walk by yourself in the woods....Dale...I'm with you on this one...something just ain't right!

A real hunter dont shoot without looking and have no interest in molesting you. You have a better chance getting molested or shot or stabbed in your city or town. Just wear orange and defend yourself from the non-hunting weirdos in the city

Marquez fan: Since you are already familiar with the outdoors and seem to like it out there...why not consider becoming a hunter yourself? Wait! keep an open mind and read this;
1: Hunters provide the money that is used to protect and preserve much of the natural lands we have left in the USA every time we buy or renew our license or buy hunting related equipment.
2: If you eat meats from a supermarket or a fast food store: remember that most of it is made from "jailed" animals being fed un-natural foods and chemicals. We hunters get some of our meat from animals that live FREE and eat right. Wild animals enjoy this good life right up until we turn them into food and we only take the amount of animals that the goverment wildlife experts recommend. This helps keep the rest quite healthy.
3: Even if you choose not to shoot anything, you will be able to take those walks in the woods with the comfort of being permitted to carry a shotgun and having the knowledge of an outdoorswoman. You will gain this knowledge from studying for your license and testing it in the woods.
Talk to your parent or legal guardian. reach out to the local hunting clubs. See for yourself what this is all about and don't let a TV show or movie tell you what to think about this. Danger can be found anywhere, but, I feel safer in the hunting lands than I do in my own neighborhood.

P.S. I'm still a new hunter myself, Any of you more experienced people reading this are more than welcome to step in and correct anything I put here or add to it etc. Obviously I've decided to proceed on the assumption that her post is on the up-and-up...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I'll assume the post is on the up-and-up -

I wouldn't worry about going into the woods during hunting season - maybe you like the woods and enjoy nature - I certaintly do - I just happen to enjoy hunting as much. Still you should take precautions and make sure you are seen. Also, as hunters, we must have permission to be on the lands we hunt, so should you. If you are walking on state land, or other public land, enjoy your walks, but be safe and be seen. Be aware that hunting involves alot of preparation, and a hiker could inadvertently screw up, ones hunt. If you are on public land, you have just as much right to be there - and most hunters understand this - if you are on private land - do not assume that &quot;no hunting&quot; signs, mean there is no hunting taking place. In MOST cases, other hunters post the property to keep additional hunters and others out, not to make the property a &quot;no hunting&quot; area - especially in rural areas like most of Vermont.

Thanks for posting -
