RE: Maryland bow hunters
I took this one in Southern Maryland last Wednesday evening. He came into a couple of light light rattles. Just tickled the antlers like two small bucks sparring. Only for ten seconds. Five minutes later he was at 12 yards.
New at this so I am going to try to get this pic in.

Nice looking buck there Tristan!
Unfortunately, I have only been out one time so far this year. Starting this weekend, I am hoping to get out with the blackpowder and bow soon thereafter. I tell you what though, with the full moon we've had the past two nights, the deer have been moving like crazy!

I hunt MOCO and shot a doe first day out. I see 6-12 deer every time out but am waiting for a keeper buck for my next bow kill.
The mature does in my area are looking up at our treestands more this year than in years past.

I hunt up in Gaithersburg mostly, but also huntin Olney near Trotters Glenn golf course.I have seen some big bucks during the rut in Olney, but also a lot of other places in MOCO as well.
I used to hunt this place in Rockville/Potomac years ago and it was by a rock quarry. The quarry is still there I believe but they put up a lot of houses where we used to hunt. When I say houses I mean MANSIONS. They are in the 4 - 5 million $ in price range. Just unbelievable. Anyway I don't think I will ever find a place as good as that place was (it probably still is great if access were the same.)
The buck/doe ratio was probably 1 to 3 and the genetics were second to none. It was like somebody was putting something in the grass out there. So many huge bucks. My buddy shot a 10 pointer that I still gasp at when I see it on his wall.
Best place I ever hunted in MD or anywhere for that matter.
