Any Kansas hunters around here?
Just wondering if anybody here who visits this forum lives or hunts in Kansas? Going to be relocating there this upcoming spring, and would like to know what to expect in terms of deer hunting and anything else. Like to know about rifle and muzzleloader seasons, bag limits, etc.
Either be moving to Pratt or Hutchinson area.

bearhuntr, I grew up in KS. Hunting paradise. The quail and pheasant numbers aren' t what they used to be, but there are still some very good areas to hunt. As far as deer go, well, I just don' t think it gets any better. Good luck to you!

I just got back from bow hunting on the family farm in N.C. Ks. like was said, the hunting is pretty darn good in the state. In the eastern about half of the state, you can get upto 6 deer tags, 4 of which would be doe only. Upland bird numbers are better this year than last and the turkey numbers are up as well. Land is being leased up more and more each year by outfitters, so private land is gettting harder and harder to find. Lots of predators to hunt also.

I live and hunt in Kansas. The bird numbers are really up this year, and deer numbers are like normal, which is still a good amount. I see B&C deer every year, but almost only during bowseason, and hardly ever in range.
