I have hunted proving grounds two differnet times during the bow hunt and dint see anything, but when you leave at night you will see all kinds of deer along the fence. Good luck amd watch for the shells

Tough hunting from what it used to be when it was Jefferson Proving Grounds. No scouting time available really. Me and my cousin used to hunt area 58 but now we cant get in there because everyone is still so hot on it. We have found other good areas and try to hunt them more now. Oddly enough, there is one area I have wanted to hunt for awhile but can never get in to, area 71, it only allows 2 hunters in but its surrounded by corn and big deer have been taken from there. I still believe once the guns start, you need an area that is up against an impact area. Deer are smart and they know we cant go in those areas and I feel they bed in them. I didnt get drawn this year so it looks like another year I cant get into area 71 to try it. Good luck guys.
