RE: any ohio gun opener luck??
I saw 5 doe’s in early A.M. At 1030 we I met up with some guys I met from years ago that gun hunt the same farm. We proceeded to BS about the morning hunt and make plan evening. We talked for at least 20-miniutes. All of a sudden I had to do a double take because there was a 8pt Buck bedded down 10yds from us the whole time and none of us saw him. I blasted him and now he is at the butchers. He died 20yds from a tractor path I was able and allowed to drive truck too.
All in all there was allot of hunters out; not as much shooting as usual. Not as much wild shooting and all gun hunters where friendly and safe. I saw several using flashlight in am letting people know of there presence. It was a good day.

We hunt in Central Ohio. My buddy shot what appeared to me and him as about a 160 class 8 pointer this evening. He hit it a little far back so i told him if he was smart he would just give it time to expire. Hopefully in the morning I'll be able to get some pics for you all. If not I'll fill you in on the details. The buck was a monster though. He had it all, width, height, thickness. Just a nasty lookin buck.

RE: any ohio gun opener luck??
I have spent the first three days of season being the bird dog. I am the one who goes into the briars and brambles and pushes them out. Tomorrow, (Thursday) It will be my turn to take a stand and maybe see something more than a quick flash of flag. Saw two does Monday about 1 pm. pushed 3 deer to our standers, and they shot both bucks. I figure tomorrow should be a good hunt. Wish me luck!

I got a doe at 2:30. She was with a buck. I shot at the buck and missed so I decided to shoot at the doe. All I wanted this year was a doe because I had never shot a deer. Maybe next year I'll get a buck.
