Same here! But this year the first day of shotgun, we didn't see hardly anything. It was horribly warm and the wind was blowing like 50 mph it seemed anyways. Then when you get two idiots shooting the woods up, at the deer we didsee, it really doesn't go over to well for the whole group. We hunt with four people. My dad, me, my uncle, and my cousin.

i live in warrick county. the newspaper said today that "in illinois ohio and indiana deer were not moving like they should have been... BECAUSE there are an overflow of red and white oak acorns this year. because of the surplus of acorns deer dont have to move from location to liocation in search of acorns. the deer find a large amount of acorns bed up all day and at night eat those acorns and then head to the fields... in the recent years its been find acorns u put ur stand up. same thing with this year. but the guys seeing the bucks are getting lucky for finding the right oak trees. the ones not seeing them are hunting the wrong ones"
strange...

I hunt a 485 acre parcel of land in Morgan County and have seen very little movement all season long. Only 1 deer, a small doe, has been taken so far.
We've set a deer mgt rule and are only shooting bucks with at least 8pts and a spread at least as wide as the ears. Most of the bucks we've seen have been 4 & 6 pointers. We got a glimpse of a monster....probably 160 class tending a doe about a month ago....not seen him since.
We see plenty of sign but I think the movement has been at night. We've tried hunting morning, mid-day, all day, and night.
Hopefully, things will pick up during ML season. Looking forward to my first harvest with the Encore.

I don't doubt that they are out there. The 160 class we spotted was probably 225 to 250.....he was a mean looking SOB.
Getting them to move is a different story.
