RE: tips for horseshoe
There is a road that goes between 2 lakes, it is good fishing from the bank, gar and buffalo..
When you go in to the park hang to the right towards the boat ramp, there is some good fishing from the road..Good Luck, a guy just caught a 46 pound bighead out of there this weekend..

I've been swearing I'm going to get to horseshoe for at least two months. I think next weekend I'll finally make it. The only water I have close to me has just commom carp so I can't wait to shoot something else. How is the water level? does the flooding have any impact on that lake?

I know you meant bowfishing.. I havent been there in a while but the last time I was there those were pretty good spots.
Seen alot of gar and buffalo, the vegatation was getting thick in the water on the road between the lakes.
But if you go towards the boat ramp, when you come to a pond on the right that flows under the road from horseshoe we shot some nice bigheads there feeding on the horseshoe side..Good luck, it is a better early season lake, less vegatation..

RE: tips for horseshoe
probably a bit late for horseshoe, we know it real well, as we live here. Kyle went out in boat tuesday, only shot 6 I think. But we did go to the flooded river last sunday, and pounded em pretty good. Lot of good size carp, but you gotta know the spots, many places seemed to have little or no fish. So much flooded areas, fish have lots of places to go.
