I have a few camps still available for a DIY high country, pack in wilderness elk hunt here in Colorado. These are excellent hunts for the person that doesn't need a guide, but just needs to get back to where the elk live. You will be packed via horseback to a fully set up wall tent camp, complete with everything you will need during your hunt. You will be checked on regularly and any animals you have harvested will be packed out from the kill site. The hunters are responsible for there own food, personal gear, weapon and the cleaning and quartering of the animal prior to the pack out. We have been running camps in this part of Colorado for the past 35 years and they are in an area well known for harboring a tremendous elk herd. Cost is 1400.00 per person, plus the cost of the tag, which is available over the counter. If you are looking for a great high country adventure, you really need to check this hunt out.
