Hunt Montana 2012

Hunt Montana 2012
We had a great hunting season this year. There were a total of 2 Mule deer bucks 2 Mule Deer does, and 2 Whitetail does, and one cow elk taken off of our place all before the rut even began. After our hunters left there were still a lot of deer and antelope around. The weather was actually the best we have had for a few years. Our first snow was not until Nov. 19 and within three days it was all melted.
We have split our ranch into two tracts, so we can accommodate two different groups of hunters at the same time without having them hunt the same ground. Tract one is around 2,500 private acres that we us for our summer pasture. It has Elk, Mule Deer, and some Whitetail deer on it. We have a water line going through it and an oil pipeline is scheduled to run close to it, possibly scaring the game. Because of that we do not know how the hunting will be on it for the next year or two, but about a mile of the waterline was laid when I shot my cow elk in a herd of 75-100. I also saw multiple Mule deer bucks and a nice Whitetail buck on it while I was hunting. Hopefully it’ll have the same on it next year.
Tract two is over 8,000 private acres that is the land around our home place. It has Mule deer, Antelope and some Whitetail deer. It is out of the way of the pipelines, with lots of wildlife being seen around. I have included some pictures of what was taken off of us this year as well as some of what was left on my profile.
This year we had all repeat hunters, but so far for next year we are completely open. As long as our winter and spring are open we should have a good selection of Mule deer, Whitetail deer, Antelope, and Elk to hunt. If you have a camper/RV you can bring out and hook it up to our electricity at no charge, or we have rustic accommodations you can stay in. If you get a Montana tag call 406-972-4568 for prices and scheduling. We are located in South East Montana in hunting district 705. We also do coyote/predator hunts if anyone is interested. I have posted older forms that offer more of what we have taken off our place in the 2010 season with pictures to help if anyone is interested in hunting on us.
I hope this finds everyone with filled tags and filled freezers. If you wish to try a new place to hunt next fall give us a call for more information.
