Default Hints & Hunts From Slovakia

Jan Urban, the founder of Shooting Enterprise Ltd. promotes hunting activities and hunting related tourism for the last decade, which is why literally thousands of hunters arrive in the heart of the Slovak countryside every year. In the last hunting season around 5.000 hunters from all around the world came along to enjoy the magic scenery.

Hunting grounds are spread out all over the country enabling the company to cherry pick only the selected top managed hunting estates and organize hunts for all the main game.

Before the main hunting season kicks off we start with fly fishing for trout and gray ling right under the spells of the Tatra Maintains.
The main game hunting season starts of with roe buck stalking, followed by red stag, fallow deer, mouflon, sika, boar and wolf. Before the snow falls and over the winter syndicates enjoy driven pheasant, wild boar, duck and wolf shooting. All the gun shots are over by end of February.

Syndicates love to spend time in Chateau and Manor houses, sharing their hunting stories and enjoying fine dinning with great wines. History is on every step of your trip, the Chateaus were build in the 13th Century as well as hunting estates established in the same time. „This is like going back hundreds of years and hunt like the Aristocrats did in those days“ is one of the many guest’s remarks.

For the less discerning hunter, hunting lodges, chalets, or city hotels are arranged. The advantage to stay in the hunting lodge or chalet is that the hunter is right in the middle of the „action“. No need to exaggerate that being in the heart of forest while the rut season is in full swing, the sounds of a roaring stag is simple breathtaking.

Hunting lodges are simple but clean with all the amenities a hunter would expect, many of them recently refurbished.
Both type of accommodation has full staff in house who cooks and does the housekeeping. Hunting estate run very effectively, the men guides and the ladies cooks and look after the housekeeping part. This kind of in house arrangements give the hunting guest a warm welcome with home feel.

English guns are mainly interested in the high flying quality driven pheasant shooting. At present, we use three best driven shooting grounds in south part of Slovakia, where we believe that even the most discerning guest will be satisfied. At the beginning of the 20th century, one of these grounds worked closely with the prestigious Sandringham Estate – the retreat of HM The Queen.

Historical south part of Slovakia is well known for its great location in Europe. Surrounded by the two very important business hobs, Budapest and Vienna gives Bratislava the advantage to be easily reachable destination from anywhere in the word.

Hunting traditions play a huge part of the hunting culture of Slovakia. At the end of the day, the bag is laid out (Le Tableaux), hunting wishes are exchanged as a mark of respect to the day’s quarry. This is very traditional for hunting in the heart of Europe and really creates a lasting impression. All of the ancillary arrangements are well organized for hunting in this part of the world.
