Looking for Muley hunt/ Any good outfitters?
My name is Mike, I am interested in hunting mule deer in 2011 with a party of four, my dad, brother and girlfriend. There is a possibility of two additional hunters but only the four are committed at this point. Our budget is going to be in the $3000-$3400 per person range, including tags and license. I would consider us on the higher end of hunting and outdoor experience however I realize there is quite a difference between deer and elk hunting that we participate in every year in California and central Oregon. I would be open to a semi-guided or a guided hunt, but kind of wary to a self-guided hunt as I’ve never stepped foot in Utah. I realize that our budget will not allow us to take four 35” bucks but I’m looking for a quality opportunity. Our physical ability would be average but my dad is 65 with no physical problems what so ever, but would not be able to do an extreme back-packing trip. We have owned horses and would be open to a pack-in hunt or a hunt which uses horses daily. We will be driving out and do own a couple wall tents and equipment, or we have RV’s we could bring. I have done a pretty good amount of reading about the different states, and I’m not real excited about the impact of wolves in Idaho and Wyoming. We also do not have any points in any states except Oregon. Utah and Wyoming seem to have my interest peaked the most at this time but no part of our trip is absolutely set. Any direction, help, or information would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi Mike:
You are smart in planning now, especially considering the application periods will soon be here.
I believe I can offer a hunt that your group would really enjoy. It is in Wyoming and the draw odds are 100%. You won't kill a 200" mule deer there but you will see bucks that score from 150-170 with an occasional 180. I have sent a good number of hunters to this outfitter and have never received a bad report. They have private cabins which would work well for your group. 2x1 guiding, meals, lodging, caping and over 200,000 acres of private land. The cost is a few hundred over your max but considering the quality of the hunt, you may want to look it over. Here is the link to the hunt - it is Hunt #26 MD. http://www.premierhuntingadventures....ory/mule-deer/
The other muley hunts we offer are listed below this one. If you would like to discuss, please call or email versus a PM.
Also we will take care of your license application process so you won't have to deal with that.
Thanks,

Mike, we offer an a high quality mule deer hunt in Wyoming that to date has been 100% successful for every hunter we have sent on it. It is not a hunt either that you will kill a lot of B&C deer on but it does offer very good representitve bucks but it does give up a few pretty big bucks each year too.
Wyoming Mule Deer Hunts
Wyoming Outfitter #1
When you talk about quality Wyoming mule deer hunts don't
be surprized if you hear this outfitter's name mentioned in the conversation. The outfitter's great grandparents homesteaded
in the Little Goose Canyon in 1879. Since then his family has been ranching in the "Sheridan Wyoming" area. He has been hunting this area of Wyoming since he was old enough to go
and a licensed successful guide for more than 20 years. He
has the great references to back it up, and has been featured
on "Outdoors with Joey Mines" on the "Outdoor Channel."

This outfitter offers Wyoming mule deer hunts on 60,000-80,000 acres that is primarily all private land with a little bit
of acreage being land-locked public ground. This outfitter's clients for 2006 all were 100% successful for all species
they hunted for including mule deer, and that includes their archery hunters. An average representitive size muley
taken on this hunt will range from 22"-24" with a few deer in the 26" range and occassionally a really big one. Mule
deer / Antelope combo hunts can be arranged also.
The Wyoming deadline to put in for their mule deer license draw is March 15th. In Wyoming if you put in for the draw,
odds are you will probably be drawn. If for some reason you miss the draw dealine, most years you will find plenty of
left over licenses being available to non-resident hunters on a first come basis.

Hunters who fly will fly into Sheridan, Wyoming and will be picked up and returned to the airport at no charge.

I have some great hunts here in Colorado with bucks in that 165-185" range with bigger bucks always possible. Tags are available through the landowner voucher program and there is no extra charge for the vouchers. Great private ranch in northwest Colorado with success rates over the past several years right around that 100% mark. Quality hunts that are within your budget range. If we can help out, give me a call. Thanks and good luck.

I hunted with a great outfitter in Colorado that specializes in truley throphy mule deer. The oufitter is Dan Ardrey. He owns Kiowa Creek Outfitters. He has bow gun and muzzle load hunts. He was 100 percent on deer the first rifle hunt this yr. The week I was there they took a 186,184, and 180 mule deer wit a big 10 pt whitetail that weighed 241 lbs dressed out. Dan has alot of land to hunt and guides that have better eyes than hawks for spotting deer. You will get a big buck if you hunt with Dan. Good Luck.

Looks like you have already gotten some good replies. If I can throw my hat in the ring here. I am an outfitter in Montana. I have a couple options for you to think about. I have a ranch that you can go semi guided on for 3200 to 3900(during the rut) for 5 days. The ranch is 25k acres and is limited to under 15 hunters for the 5 week season. Included is lodging on the ranch in the original 2 bedroom ranch house. You provide your own meals. In the past 4 years there has been a 202 inch buck and a 238 inch buck taken from the ranch. last year the best buck was 32 inches wide.
second is a smaller ranch near glendive MT. It is about 10k acres. We only take 6 rifle hunters total. Two spots are already booked so there are 4 left. We stay in an old house on the ranch and meals are provided. this hunt is 3400 for 5 days per hunter.
If I can help in any way please let me know. Either [email protected] or 406-207-1344
