Arizona Bowhunts
Hello to the HuntingNet Crowd,
My name is Matt Woodward, and I own and operate Borderland Adventures in Arizona.
We've got some great bowhunts here in AZ, and I thought I would offer them up to your forum members.
Our archery hunts are Over-the-Counter tags and we have hunts in Aug/Sept, and again in Dec/Jan.
We've got a couple spots left for January, peak rut bowhunts for Coues Deer or Desert Mule Deer (hunters choice). These are 5 day, fully outfitted hunts, in Central Arizona. Great accomodations, great food, airport pick up included.
We have 100% opportunity, and 70+% success on P&Y deer. Come on out and enjoy the beautiful weather, stunning country and an all around great time. We have FUN on these hunts. Our coues deer average 85", with multiple bucks over 100" taken each season. Last January brought us a 101" and a 108" buck. Our Mule deer average 140"-150", with our biggest buck last year being 172". We utilize treestands, blinds, calling and spot and stalk to put mature Coues and Desert Mule deer buck in your lap.
Available hunt dates are Jan 8-12 and Jan 15-19. That's 5 full days of hunting, 7 days travel on your part. Arrive the day before your hunt, hunt a full 5 days, and depart the morning after your hunt.
These hunts are $3400 for 1x1 (one hunter/one guide) or bring a friend and make it 2x1 for $2800 per hunter. Non-resident license fee is $151.25 and Non-res deer tag is $225.25. Grand total of $376.50 for licensing/tag.
Here's the kicker, for the cost of a $105 Javelina tag, you can make it a combo hunt. We tend to glass up multiple herds of Javelina per day, and they are made for bowhunters. The javelina tag must be drawn, with the drawing in Oct, but don't worry, draw odds are typically 100%, or 90% in some areas. Again, the deer tag is guaranteed and over the counter. We will assist you in purchasing this upon your arrival in Arizona.
As with all our camps, if you finish early, you are welcome to stay and hunt predators or quail. We are an established, full time outfitter, and would be happy to provide a reference list, pictures or answer any questions you may have.
Not sure if I'm allowed to link my website, but you can find it at borderlandadventures.com
Thanks and Happy Hunting,
Matt Woodward
