If you going to hunt the Illinois, you might as well hunt with the best!
Thank you for your interest in Harpole’s Heartland Lodge. Our whitetail hunts have gained a reputation for being the best in the country. We have designed Heartland Lodge with you, the hunter, in mind. You will enjoy hunting some of the largest whitetail in Illinois prime habitat. Heartland is located in between the mighty Mississippi and Illinois rivers. These large river drainages are stomping grounds for some of the largest bucks in the world!
In order to have large whitetails you must have four things: genetics, food, habitat, and good age structure. We have all four on the properties we hunt. The genetics in Illinois are the best found in North America. Illinois is a rich agriculture state. Corn and soybeans are throughout the entire area. The habitat in our area is made up of mixed hardwoods. Large oaks provide shelter and a mast crop that whitetail cannot refuse. The age structure is well balanced and strictly managed for mature deer. Our minimum 130 class Pope & Young assures young bucks the opportunity to reach maturity.
Our whitetail packages include guides, meals, and accommodations. The accommodations have gained national attention for quality and service. Every room has two twin beds and a private bathroom. Of course, the cooks will be fixing you terrific home cooked meals. After the hunt you can relax next to the large stone fireplace in our Great Room, or enjoy a game of pool in our recreation room. The relaxing atmosphere of the lodge is something you will look forward to after each full day of hunting.
