South Dakota Hunts
Deer hunts[/b] are a four-day package with the costs running $2500-$2750 and a $500 deposit.
Antelope hunts[/b] are a three-day package with the costs running $1550-1750 and a $250 deposit.
Turkey[/b] hunts[/b] are a three-day package in both spring and fall with the costs running $750-1000 with a $150 deposit.
Pheasant Hunts[/b] are a three-day package with cost running $600 with $100 deposit.
Buffalo[/b] hunts[/b] are a two-day package with cost running $1500-2500 with a $500 deposit.
Prairie dog hunts[/b] are $75-125 per day depending on package with a $25 deposit.
Archery licenses are guaranteed if correctly filled out and dated on time. They have no deadline as long as you have them before the hunt. Rifle deer hunters can apply for a license one of two ways.
A license through a lottery drawing is available at a cost of $155 or a special buck license can be applied for at a cost of $505. The difference in these tags is the general drawing is species specific and tougher to draw. I urge hunters to apply for the special buck tag.
The general drawing application deadline is in June and the special buck application is due in May. Antelope applications are due in August. Turkey applications are due in February.
