Last Minute Big Game Hunt Specials!
It is that of the year again, when outfitters let hunters know of last minute hunts they have available.
Stone Sheep:
We have one opening for a Stone Sheep, which can be taken in either the last 1/2 of August or in early September. It is 12 or 14 day hunt, depending on dates. Price is $15,000 with a $10,000 trophy fee when ram is taken. This is a price reduction of $7,000. If no ram is shot or missed, any 2 of the following animals can be taken for no additional charge: moose, goat or caribou. If ram is taken, normal trophy fees apply to other animals. This hunt includes a guide and packer and requires a hunter to be fit and able to carry a backpack. Success rates are high, but Stone Sheep hunting is not easy.
Grizzly (12 Day hunt)
With the addition of the leased area, I have one grizzly hunt that I can book. One of our grizzly hunters wants to also hunt sheep at the same time as grizzly, so this opens up our best backpack grizzly area, where there are no sheep. This hunt retails for $15,950 plus a $10,000 harvest. I will offer the hunt for $14,950 plus a $10,000 kill fee plus I will include one other animal - a goat , caribou or elk, for this price. If no grizzly is taken (this would be very unlikely), then 2 animals could be taken for no additional harvest fee. Hunt date is August 29th-September 11th. You will not find a higher success or better hunt for taking a true, mountain grizzly. Hunter must be fit though. Area is booked for 2009 and maybe even 2010.
Mixed Bag (10 and 12 Day hunt)
These are the best "valued" hunts that we have to offer. We have a couple of openings. The 12 day hunt date is August 29th-Sept. 11th.
The hunter can hunt goat, moose and/or caribou in on area or elk and goat in the other. Horses might be an option, the moose option, but the elk area has no horse access (backpacking and foot hunting only). The ten day hunt is September 23rd - October 5th. The primary focus with this later hunt is either moose or caribou in the rut, with goat as an option. Keep in mind that we have goat hunting opportunities in almost every camp. No horses are available on this late, 10 day hunt, so hunters need to be fit. Hunt will be conducted near a lake for the moose, with hiking involved for getting to the goats and caribou. Normal hunt price is $12,950 for the 12 day hunt and $12,250 for the 10 day hunt. I will do either hunt for $11,000 (includes any two animals) or $7,500 for one animal. Additional animals are $3,750 each.
Single Species (Goat):
I can offer 1 early season goat hunt, August 14-22nd or August 22-29th. This is a backpack hunt for goat only. There might be a chance for caribou, but goat is the main animal. These are 6 and 7 day hunts. Normal price is $6,950 for the 6 day and $7,450 for the 7 day hunt. Either date is available for $5,750. There is also a chance that I might have an
8 day hunt open up, October 5-15th for goat, but won't know for a week. If interested, inquire about this hunt.
