RE: WTB used set of binoculars
If you don't find any offers for used glass, here are a couple of options.
There was a discussion on 24 Hour Campfire about <$50 binoculars.
(http://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1060854&an=0& ;page=1#1060854) (Just ignore the comments from optics snobs, the kind of guys who claim that you can't see across the street with anything less than $1000 optics.)
Or you might try a closeout from Natchez Shooter's Supply. (www.natchezss.com)
Or from CDNN, www.cdnninvestments.com/binoculars.html(they have Bushnell Legacy 8x40 porro prisms for $50).
I have some Barksa 10x42 Atlantics; bought them for about $40 on Ebay. They're pretty good for the price.
Good luck!

I actually like the Barska binoculars pretty well. They're a bit heavy, but they work fine. I haven't really used them in low-light conditions (which is where I think a pair of binoculars earn their pay), but for everyday looking around, they work really well.
I think that if you can find a pair for under $50, they're hard to beat.
