870, the Kodiak 400 does not have a diff lock. To say that Yamaha`s 4wd system is no good is
just not accurate in my opinion. I have a Kodiak 450 with a diff lock and think it is a very good
set up, and mine can be in 4wd going DOWNHILL, thats one thing Polaris cant say.

This is like the Ford Chevy argument...I stopped that in Kindergarten.

Who gives a flingin' crap what somebody else buys? You got stock in a company or something?

Guys gettin busted out of shape because somebody else bought what they think is junk. Hell...if that's your attitude, go to every person that watches American Idol and hit them in the head with a ball-peen hammer. They are watching a truly crappy show.

LMAO

100% BS where do you get this false information????? polaris can go downhill in 4WD do a little more research.

i know the kodiak 400 doesnt have a lock in the front but it is still "considered" to be 4WD b/c it says 4WD on the side of the 4wheeler. so yamaha obviously believes that it is a 4wheeldrive wheeler. so 4 u to try and tell me that is isnt a 4wheeldrive 4wheeler is more BS since yamaha Specifically states on the side of the wheeler 4WD.

In order for the polaris to have the front wheels engaged, the back wheels must be turning faster than the front. That is how the polaris four wheel drive system is designed to work. Therefore unless the rear wheels are spinning as you go downhill(not likely)the quad will be in two wheel drive and only have two wheel engine braking.
