Whats a good all around deer knife under $50. Id prefer under 50, but I can work with under 60. Id like it to have a gut hook and possibly a folder, but doesnt have to be.

I love my Whitetail Skinner from Outdoor Edge! I've been using this blade since '97 and it's great! In fact I've seen many of my huntin' buddies make the switch to this smae blade over the years. Just another to think about. If it's a straight handled more traditional blade style that you like than I would suggest the Buck Vanguard, it's also a great knife that I have had very good results with.

I use the Gerber Gator fixed blade. You can get a folder with a gut hook for under $50.

I have a Cutco hunting knife and you can get it for $92.It isn't as cheap as others but has a lifetime guarantee. You won't have to buy another hunting knife again.

I have used Gerber folding for years they worked fine and cheap. This year received a Buck Alpha Hunter which I am impressed with so far, appears to have a bit better steel than the Gator by Gerber. Mine is the non slip black handle, drop blade, folding and no gut hook, but they do offer the same with a gut hook and if you prefer a rosewood handle.

Try Ebay for a Kershaw Blade Trader. I have the Alaskan. It comes with 3 interchangable blades. I have a saw Blade, skinner with gut hook and a regular knife blade. It comes in a leather belt sheath. $35 to $45 bucks.
Theres alway some there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...150132846&rd=1
