One heck of a scope testimonial
Got my October issue of North American Hunter and there was a interesting article about a really long accidental field test.
A hunter in Southern Austria was hunting for chamios in September of 1977 when he took an animal from a rock ledge. After the shot he started climbing down to see his trophy and layed his rifle against a rock. When he went back to get his rifle he couldnt find it, he looked for several days to no avail. Three decades later another hunter hunting chamios in the same area happened upon the old rifle. The stock was bleached and weathered and all the metal was very rusted and basically the gun was totally unusuable. When he picked it up the Kahles Helia 6X42 scope was in great shape and as clear as the day it was made, all the mechanial parts such as windage and elevation dials still worked perfectly. The scope was still completely waterproof and all the aluminum parts were in perfect condition. The hunter tracked down the original owner and purchased the rifle from him and it will be displayed in Kahles booth at hunting and trade shows.
That really says something about a scope that can last in the elements for 30 years and still be as reliable as the day it was made. Just thought that was an interesting article.

Khales/Swarovski are the same company. I just broke the bank and purchased some 15x56 Swarovski binoculars and I must say, they are the finest optics I have ever used. To truely appreciate them, you have to use them in low light conditions. Oh, and did I add that I get no eye fatigue after glassing with them for several hours. Their products are simple fantastic.
