Target Scope?
I’m looking at getting a scope for my 22-250. This rifle will be used for target shooting and sometimes for small game. I’ve read some articles suggesting to use up to 20x scope. The highest power scope I've ever used is 10x and don’t think it would be sufficient for this caliber. Any comments?
I was also wondering about what type of reticle I should get, target dot or mill dot. The only one I have ever used is duplex and I don’t think it would be sufficient for this caliber. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.....–

RE: Target Scope?
it depends on how far u are going to be shooting. I am 15 and my grand dad gave me a match pair of 22-250's with bauch and lomb i think 28 power or so. At 150 yards i can zoom in and read small print. i am not sure excally about the power but it is around that lol hope it was any help

RE: Target Scope?
Depends on how far the target is and what size the target is. If it is small and far away you need some high magnification. On my 22-250 i have a 6-20X50 scope mounted. If the target is big or close i can dial down the mag. If it's small and far away i can crank it up. As far as reticle, stick with fine croos w/target dot, or duplex. Mil-dot scopes work great. But you have to know how tall the target is, and count how many dots then do the math in your head. Takes to long if you ask me. Hope this helps.
