Tree steps
Im getting rid of all my screw in steps, as a friend of mine nearly lost his leg because he broke it so severly when he fell 15feet. The step broke. I was thinking about trying the 3ft sections that strap to thr tree. How easy do they install ? Any other sugestions would be appreciated.

My brother and I have been using the climbing sticks such as Cabelas and a lot of others sell. Ours reach 16' and are 4 sections that slide together and strap to the tree every 4'. Kind of heavy if you had to carry very far but we use one of the straps sort of like a sling to carry the sticks and that helps.

Check into the Summit "Buck Steps" I believe that's the brand name?
I use them to put up my hang-on stand and really like them, they can be staggered, some removed to keep intruders out of Your stand and easy to carry!

Been using these for almost 8 years now, 3 sets of 4 steps. Work great, inexpensive. Bungee cord them together or create some sling straps for easy carrying.

I have a couple sets of Stagger Steps by Big Game. They come in 3 or 4 sections that attach to the tree independently, which works better than the one-piece 16 or 20 foot systems if you can't find a straight enough tree. Plus, they are built like a ladder instead of a single center stick with cross bars, so your foot can't slip off the side.

My brother had a Ambusher 16' ladder stand. The 4 rung from the top broke and he fell about 12 feet and broke his back. Check those welds as his had stress cracks in several of the remaining steps and he only weighed 187 at the time.
