Bass Pro CWS vs Mountain Stalker
I am looking for some cold weather gear for deer hunting in MD.
I own some nice Drake stuff for duck hunting. I even considered using it for deer hunting because these jackets and bibs can be pricey.
Bass Pro has their hunting outerwear on sale so I think I am gonna get something specific for deer hunting.
I went in to the store with the intention to buy their CWS bibs and jacket.
The sales guy said I should look at the Mountain Stalker elite bib and jacket combo as another opton claiming that it has the same insulation.
He went through the features and differences. Stalker has neoprene cuffs and a orange baze center jacket, bibs on the stalker has longer zippers (but doesnt have cargo pockets) blah blah blah
I want to know a couple of things:
1) Is this Mountain Stalker really as warm as the CWS?
2) The CWS is a parka which is longer. Is that good or bad when using a bib? (My drake jacket is not the parka and works great with the bib)
3) Any reaso to staff away from that orange jacket inside?
4) I have to go back and try them on again but I do think the one did seem to fit better. I have terrible legs and wear Muck rubber boots so anything that would allow better movement (without noticabely sacrifice warmth) would be a plus. I eventually want to get an ATV and that would factor into it.
Does anyone have any exerience with these and can offer some help?
