Default New pair of boots, 2 weeks before season start.

I picked up a new pair of boots this week for this years season. Rocky's are the most abundant brand around here but I have owned 2 pair. The firs got a large crack in the sole right under the ball of my foot. It was not longer water proof. The next pair was about 5 years old but I only wear them to hunt. No other time so they had very little use. The places I hunt are typically field edges and never really far from the road. So they had very few miles on them. Last year on opening day I got home and the soles just fell apart. By the time I got out of the car and into my garage they rubber was almost all gone.

Anyway, back on topic. I have set the new boots outside the last couple days to get some of the "new leather and rubber" smell out. What would you guys do to kill the new car smell on these boots before opening day in two weeks?

You can step in as many cow pies as you want. By the time that you get back to the truck, all evidence of that will be long gone.

Put my new boots on today and did some metal detecting for about 3 hours. No problem with the comfort. Hopefully a little time in the dirt, grass, and outdoors will help.
