My outer layers are always wool, no exceptions! Wool is far superior to any synthetic material for it' s ability to keep you warm even when wet. It is also totally quiet, which is important when hunting.

I' m not arguing with you that wool keeps you warm when wet. But you said it' s better than synthetics in this aspect.
And you' re saying wool is quieter than synthetic pile? How does that work? Again, just not true, imho. Both are soft, quiet fabrics.
Wool is great stuff and a very intelligent choice for those that choose it. In fact, I prefer wool pants over synthetics because the ones I have (old army field pants) are much tougher than synthetics, less prone to be damaged by hard use and camp fire sparks, and because of the particular weave of these pants, pick up less burrs, etc, and break the wind better. Now if you' re saying you like wool outer layers because of these factors, I' d agree 100%. But the statements you made aren' t correct, imho. - zeke, picker of nits.[>:]

I HAVE THE SUIT MYSELF, JUST NEVER USED IT. LAST YEAR DURING THE NEW JERSEY SHOTGUN SEASON IT WAS 7 ABOVE, AND MY FATHER GETS COLD FAST. WELL I TOLD HIM TO USE THE SUITE, HE HUNTS OFF THE GROUND. WELL HERE I AM FREEZING IN A TREESTAND, I LOOK OVER TOWARDS HIM AND HE' S ASLEEP WITH 2 BUCKS RIGHT TO HIM. LATER ON THAT DAY HE TOLD ME HE NEVER GOT COLD, HE LOVES IT !!!!!!

I bought the suit, and used it this weekend. It worked great. I sat comfortably for 12 hours in the tree stand. I suggest it for anybody who has trouble staying warm. It was weel worth the money. www.heaterbodysuit.com

I don' t know about the heated suits. But I still like my goose down, packed between some of the newer fabrics you get the best of old and new tech. Plus the thermos of hot tomato soup for when the need for a little boost hits.
