Default How to carry a climbing treestand?

I have a Hunters View climbing stand, but this is common for all.

How do you carry your climbin treestand? I ask because mine came with some shoulder straps and a brief paragraph on it in the manual, but it is not very helpful. When I try a couple of different routines, all are quite uncomfortable.

When nested, the foot rest part goes inside the seat part.

So, some simple questions:
1) Do you carry it with the tree and cable clamp end up or down?
2) Where do the straps go?
3) Is there a good way to ajust the seat and back to provide some padding? (Mine has both a foam seat on web straps and a backrest.

Any suggestions or good pictures of someone carrying one?

I' m not familar with your particular stand. I have Treelounges and two Gunslingers. The carrying straps are used to carry these stands as a Backpack. The Gunslingers can also be carried with a strap over the shoulder and carried on the side. Call or email the company who made your stand and ask them to explain it more clearly.I' ll be willing to bet that it' s designed to be carried as a backpack. There has to be some provision made for carrying it.

l. it is carried with the tree straps in the up position. if you have the chain type cables, they can be folded in. one end of the strap is hooked around the part of the stand that bites into the tree, the other end of the straps are hooked around the next to the last rung on the platform.

2. they are a lot more comfortable to carry if you are wearing a jacket, but the carrying straps can be adjusted to help some.

In addition to the information already provided, consider this. I bought (for about 12 bucks) a set of shoulder straps used by the armed forces on their " Alice" packs. I got rid of the cheapo nylon web supplied by nearly every manufacturer of climbing stands that I know of and use these. They are nicely padded, have an adjustment for length which can be changed as you walk. When attaching them, allow for your personal comfort with a little trial and error then use large (the wider the better) black tie wraps to mount them to the stand.
