"Lakota Cam" trailcam review
A lot of you know that I talk about my Lakota cam quite often, especially when I am knocking my Moultries<img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle> And I have answered a lot of emails about how to get one or who builds them, etc. Well I finally have my review finished. This thing takes great photos and does not cost and arm and a leg. What else could you ask for???? He built mine a few moths ago and I have had absolutly great luck with it, right up until the land owner decided to do a controlled burn
Take a look when you have time.

What kind of low battery display does it have? Also what is battery life like in warm weather? They sound very tempting for the price.Does the camera use 800spd film? These would be my questions before buying one.I'm interested let me know please. Thanks, Also how does flash strength and distance compare to the OWL Powerflash?

Woodseye,
Good questions. The battery life indicator is on the camera itself and basically shows a small flashing battery.. As for the 9volt battery, I replace it everytime I change my film, even though I am sure I probably do not need to.
Since I bought my cam in October, the hottest temps we have experienced would have been about 85. The cam worked fine then. Of course in GA summer heat will be a test.
The flash range is great, compared to the exact camera I cannot comment. However I can say that it is about 30 feet, which is about 2 times what I got from my Moultries when they worked
There is a link on my page to email the maker, Lakota. Feel free to question him further.
I do know that they take great quality photos and that I get very, very few empty pics.
Good luck,
Jim
