Default Case Knives

I use to see my Grandda and Uncle with these. they swore by them but never knew why. The blades do not lock which to me are stiches waiting to happen. Are these knive any good? Quality, blade and do they hold an edge?

The old Case knives were just about as good as you could get in a production knife. I don't know about the newer ones. They sold out several years back. Probably not the same quality that built the name!

I used to carry on for work for about 20 years untilI left it on a park bench while fishing. Went back no more than 15 minutes later and it was gone. That Case was one of the best knives I'd ever owned. I think it was like a "stockman", had a double xx blade. I'm sure they are no longer as good as they were.....

My personal favorite in a case knife is their "Sharktooth" model.

Had an original XX Changer on my side when hunting - excellent quality and held an edge. Newer ones not the same IMHO.

I've had a folder for about 10 years now that looks very similar to the Buck 110...skinned out many a deer with it and it works great. It takes and holds an edge better than the buck zipper I got a couple years ago. I can't speak to the newer ones as I haven't handled any.

Thanks for sharing that. I wondered if they were still made here after the sellout. Seen a Buck in Wally World the other night and looked...said knife made in USA...Tin made in China...

Last knife I bought was a Kershaw...they make a pretty good knife! They are made out west but owned by a Jap outfit.
