Polaris Sportsman 800
I am looking into getting a new four wheeler and I think I've just about decided on the 2008 Polaris Sportsman 800 EFI. I am planning to get it in camo with a polaris winch and front/rear bumpers. Can anyone tell me what they think a good price would be? My sales tax is going to be 5 percent also.
Also, does anyone out there own a 2008? What is your opinion of it?

Haven't ever ridden one, but I went on a trail ride with a guy who had one. From what I could tell and from what he told me, it has a lot of power, its very heavy, and its large. The extra weight soaks up the bumps, but it makes for a tippy ride on some sidehills. If you get one, be sure to put a winch on it. I nearly messed myself just picking the back end of the thing off the ground. Also, be aware that if you have any starter/battery problems back in the woods you're SOL because they don't have a recoil starter.

THE 2008 is a great machine people say it isfaster than the 2007 model with a bigger engine and bigger radiator to fix the over heating problem fron 2007 they put the 26 pxt tire like comes on the ranger.i don't think you can go wrong with the 800. i have owned polaris for years never had a problem i didn't make myself.

I had one Polaris and never another one. Mine was bought new in 97 a Sportsman 500. It had less then 400 hours when I sold it.Always something minor going wrong with it.Then trying to deal with Polaris's Customer Service.They are a joke. Might as well talk to the wall. I have a 06 Honda TRX 680FA.So far it has been a great ATV.It's a little bigger size wisethenwish itwas.I would definitely research more about the Polaris before you lay your money out.They are very high maintenance.

I have had two of them: '98 500 and a '05 700.My friend has a '99 and is stillusing it.We have never had a problem with them. Weride often and hard.
As far as being tippy, I disagree. I hunt the mountains of West Virginia. We have water breaks on our mountains left behindbythe logging industry that can be disaterous to atv riders. I have found that Polaris makes a machine that handles this steep terrain brilliantly.
P.S. I don't mention the other brands because I am not trying to brand bash. I am just trying to relay my experince with polaris atvs.
