cold weather bowhunting camo
im looking at buying new camo for bow hunting next year. im open to any suggestions. the camo must be super quiet and can stand up to wisconsin late season hunting. i prefer a parka style coat but have never used one while bowhunting. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanx.

jaybuck,
I haven't hunted in anything except for my Scent Blocker suits for the past 4 seasons, they are very warm, not overly bulky, and you get scent suppression to boot.

I hunt and live a little north of you in Sask, Canada, so I hear you on cold days. I have always found layers to be the best way to beat the cold vs. a big parka, etc. I use thin layers next to my body, like polyproplene underwear, than a pair of light fleece pants and long sleeve fleece shirt, brushed cotton camo pants (I like Predator Camo), a wool mock, if really cold artic fleece jacket and brushed cotton camo jacket. Of course hand wear, warm hat, good boots and socks. Oh and don't forget them charcol hand warmers.
Reduced noise in the cold, brushed cotton or fleece. Amazon or saddle cloth is also pretty decent but costs more.

Jaybuck, I'm a fellow cheddarhead. A couple of years back I bought some camo from Day One Camo. It was heavy fleece lined with wind-blocker. I've hunted comfortably in -5 deg. weather with that stuff. I'm a big fan and would suggest you check that out. They have a website. www.dayonecamouflage.com

I HAD MY WIFE MAKE MY COAT..ITS A PULL OVER STYLE WITH A LARGE BUTT FLAP AND FRONT POCKET. THERE SHOULD BE THOUGHT IF THE COAT WILL HIT YOUR BOW ARM?? MY WBH COAT SUCKS THAT WAY CUASE IT ALSO CATCHES IN THE CHEST TO REALY THROUGH THINGS OFF AND THE EXTRA SLAP SOUND...TRY BEFORE YOU BUY. THANKS
