Reb,
What do you think about the Red Heads? are they good boots? I am willing to settle for bit lesser lifethanChippewas or Dannersunless they are unbearable or give sore feet.

I live in Orlando and Outdoor World have the Red Heads on sale (ending Oct. 1).

I used the Red Heads for a few years and got tired of the lacing, but they have been good boots, still have them and my son uses them.Get the 16" boots and use a good 16" socks!

Don't know about the Guide Gear ones. I have some of the Redheads. They are only a year old but so far have been very comfortable. Like RH said the lacing.Mine have the zipper. So far no zipper hang up. We just bought the wife a pair like mine. In and out of them in no time. Watch for BassPro to run a sale. Ours were 99.95 on sale.

Wow Frank, when I bought my 16" Lace Redheads from Cabellas they cost me $169.99.

I gave them to my son and bought these from Red Wing Shoes. Which I see that Cabellas now also sell them!

In the ad FL-Hunter posted has the zipper boots shown. I thought mine were 16".BassPro has them as 13".

Correct me if I'm wrong. Redheads are BassPro's brand. You must have gotten yours at BassPro and not Cabellas.

Frank you're right! When I bought them they were endorsed by a Turkey Hunter and I can't think of his name right now. Yes I do believe I got them at Bass Pro... Man that was in 1996.

I don't use snake boots personally , but I've bought hunting boots from SG several times and been very happy with them . Their boots are made to their own specifications by mfrs such as Rocky and Itasca , and my observation has been that they demand a quality product from their suppliers .
