2 way radios...

RE: 2 way radios...
We have the 550 midlands they came with all thestuff in the pack. They work the best that we've tried(motorola &cobra), expect 3-5 miles depending on the terrain. As mentioned they run off AA's as well if you need them. Lots of features, many geared perfect for the sportsman. We found the included batteries had no problems lasting a day for our use, each night we recharged as a precaution.
About the only complaint we have is the packaged earbuds are not very durable. My mic broke on day 2 of our elk hunt and another went down on day 4, same trip.I bought replacement surv. ones off ebay and they are betterwith no mic hanging out to get snagged. Mic is not attached to the ear bud, clips to your jacket, shirt, pack, etc and has a pit button attached. We turnthe vox off as the last thing you want to hear is a bugle screaming in your ear at 6 am.
