RE: ATV tires?
I've had Goodyear Mudrunners, Superswamper Vampires and Mud Lites. I've liked them all except for the fact that the Vampires where so heavy. But boy did they go through the mud. Right now I've got the Mud Lites and I think they're a pretty good compromise between pure mud goin' ability and weight savings.

RE: ATV tires?
I was inquiring about the Mud Runners and had been advised about a new radial tire that’s on the market from Carlisle called the A.C.T. They are suppose to be an excellent tire and comparable to the Mud runners with a similar tread. Has anyone heard anything about these tires?..

RE: ATV tires?
Trailer they do look similar in tread design. I just looked and based on the company specs they both are 3 ply tire designs. I was not aware the mudrunner is only a 3 ply tire!!!! Their must me an explanation on why Goodyears 3 ply tires are in the same bracket as the 6 ply tires that have been suggested in this thread. I can't answer this question though, never looked hard into the mudrunners.
The Kenda's, Mudbugs, Gators, 589& Mudlites Xl'sare all 6 ply tires.Kenda has 3/4" lugs the rest are 1-11/8" lugs. I believe the mudrunner is around the 1" mark for lugs. ACT is 3/4".
I haven't ever found carisle tires to be great in quality...although my experience with them is in the trailer tire side of things! They are reasonable and servedthe purpose.

RE: ATV tires?
According to the link below, mudrunners are 4 ply construction. However they seem to be just as tough and puncture resistant as most 6 ply tires. The lugdepth also increases with the tire size.

RE: ATV tires?
Yeah I came across the 4 ply when I was looking at the Mud runners. I like the design of the treads and the fact that they can run flat for 50 miles at 25 mph. Nothing wrong with the Run-Flat Technology...
