safety Vest/ Harness ???
This question probably has been asked before, but, I need a good full body harness/vest. my wife was talking to a guy at work, and he was talking about having back surgery due to the fact, a few years back, he fell out of his tree stand, and didn't have a harness or nothing. So when she arrived home from work she asked if I used one, I reluctantly told her I didn't, due to the fact all I have is the one that came with the stands I bought, andits a pain in the but to put on and very unconfortable. So I have been looking to get a good Harness/vest type. my question is,what do you guys like ? which ones are comfortable to wear, and easy to put on. I have been bowhunting for over 20 years in portable stands up to 20' high., I know I have been pressing my luck buy not wearing any kind of safety device.
P.S. I guess the wife must still love me if she worries about me falling out of a tree.
Thanks for the help.

I am an xray tech who has done xrays on several hunters who have tumbled from stands and take it from me....get a harness. I have a Hunters Safety System vest also and I do not get into any type of stand without it. You have 1 back and neck and they are not worth taking a risk with. Falling from a stand puts both at great risk especially the back.

I will not use my tree stand without a harness. I was using the API harness that came with my stand. They are comfortable when they are on properly, but are a pain in the butt to get into when it’s dark with twisting or tangled straps. I looked at the vests, but didn’t like the restriction or comfort. That is until an associate at Cabela’s recommended the Tree Stalker harness. This unit is a snap to get into, very comfortable and half the size of the most vest harnesses. I love it. I think they are around $70 bucks and well worth it.

Theres this girl in my Fundementals of Speech class...her dad is the owner of the Hunter Safety Systems. She did her demonstartion speech on the vest. I may end up getting one....pretty good product looks like. Right now I'm using my seat o the pants from my Summit stands

I'm leaning with going to a vest as well. I've been using the harness system that comes with my Summit Goliath, but those legs straps can be a real pain trying to hook up when your bundled up. It also makes some noise when shifting around in the stand. I'll own one before next years season.
