Areal Photos

RE: Areal Photos
You can go to googlemaps.com for some satalite photos. My favorite is called globlexplorer.com. It has satalite photos for free with a watermark on them, or you can pay a fee for better photos. They're also more up to date if you pay. I usually pay the one time fee instead of the monthly subscription. You have to know the area you are looking for. You can look up your home address and see satalite photos of your home. For hunting, it's harder. You have to know coordinates from a USGS map. Also, either Michigan or Minnisota Universities have a satalite photo thing on their website, or link to one of their research websites. I used that one for an Alaska hunt one year. I'll search around and see if I can find the exact address. In the meantime, just do an Internet search on satalite photos, something will come up.

Another option is to look on the county website. Around here a good number of counties offer aerial photos. Here is another option for the USGS.

I recommend USAPhotoMaps from http://jdmcox.com/ . It's free, and it will download free aerial photos and topos from terraserver to your heart's content. You can also import waypoints and tracks from your GPS.

mytopo.com (aerials and topos that you can custom make)
if the location in your area, you can also go to your local Farm Service Agency (USDA) and they should have aerials of the county.
