I didnt even know thay were doing anything with them. Do you think they can EVER become more powerful than gasoline engines? I dont think so but do you?

A better machine to own all around? Just maybe. The technology isn't so much in the motors (although they are getting a little smaller for the same horsepower), but in the battery cells (longer life for the weight). If it keeps going, we all might be amazed at how lightweight a decent horsepowered electric machine can be. Again, price will be the issue.
I'm not looking for it in the next five years. If fuel prices stay high or higher, car technology will get better for the dollar, and the ATV market will steal the ideas.
What I am convinced of is that we don't know the potential of electrics because fuel has been too cheap for car and ATV consumers to take any serious interest in electrics.

I believe hybrids are gonna be the wave of the future, we'll have full size trucks with the same capabilities that we have now but they'll be getting 30-35 maybe 40 miles to the gallon. ATV's are'nt far off, they may not have the range but they'll be much more stealthy and god forbid I say "politicly correct".Regarding the torque of electric motors, freight train locomtives are powered by electric motors. They're called diesel/electrics, the diesel engine turns a generator that supplies huge electric motors to power the locomotive.
