I have lived in Florida for a long time. We see dead hogs from time to time, just not a lot of them.

Something else to keep in mind when comparing deer to hogs is the sheer numbers difference. There are 5-10 times the number of deer than hogs in Texas for example and we have a lot of hogs. In other states, but would be willing to bet the number would be 20 or 30:1 or even higher.

I was thinking the same thing but just last weekend 2 hogs were hit by a truck and were road kill in the road. A huge sow and a piglet. It is the first two I've seen in TX in the 3 years I've lived here.

I see dead hogs on the side of the road occasionally here in Central Texas, but not nearly as often as deer.

When I'm hunting and spot deer in a pasture they often see me at about the same time, but they stop and look to identify what I am. Hogs, on the other hand, tend to run away as soon as they discover I'm in the area. I think the hogs are just naturally inclined to run from danger, whereas the deer often hesitate.

If you think about it, there are somewhere between 5-10 times the number of deer than their are hogs in Texas (depending on estimates), and >10-20 times that number in other southern states. By population stats alone, you aren't apt to see as many hogs as deer as roadkill.
