Nice Hog!.............Congrat's
Imissed an oppurtunity attwo considerably larger ones earlier that night when i scared them off with the light and couldnt get a shot off in time. When I hit this one with the light, he stared at me for a second, then continued to graze unfazed, until the lead poisoning settled in. These things are everywhere down here. Will hopefully be posting a few more on the boards here in the next week or two, and if possible, might get me a small one to throw on the grill. However, I'm not real certain how to cook them on a grill, or over a pit.

that's a neat looking pig. since you're in TX, you can answer this for me. i know javelina are actually rodents, but are they edible? i mean squirrels and rabbits are, and they're also rodents.

I wont eat the Javelina no matter what age it is, but some people will eat the very young Javelinas. Most people wont touch them though, they arentreally edibleunless they are very young and even then it isnt very good, atleast not in my opinion
