Unless some farm pigs have escaped near you the only known feral population is in the SW corner of the state. The IDNR currently acknowledges only 7 counties as having them, the most eastward one is Warrick, the rest stretch from there to the tip of the state. Search online topo maps for public ground, private access is dfficult to get down there. IDNR allows us to hunt them at any time of year with any normally legal weapon, a hunting license is not required since they aren't classed as game animals here(yet), and baiting for them is legal. You'd almost have to be taking a vacation to do it since they're mostly nocturnal and would require a few days to find your baits and begin utilizing them, "posthole" baiting and "stinker barrels" on stout chains are reccomended.
